COVID Rules (Lakefield Minor Hockey)

PrintCOVID Rules

Every arena has different rules related to COVID-19 mitigation and you should visit a Centre’s website prior to travelling to their arena. In Lakefield, the following rules are strictly in effect. All players and bench staff are required to complete their team's COVID Screening and must not allowed a player to enter an arena without making sure it's complete.

COVID-19 Rules in the Lakefield Arena

1. No capacity limit.

2. Entry to the arena is allowed 45 minutes prior to the start of games and 30 minutes prior to the start of practices.

3. The doors to the arena will lock once the Home COVID Rep tells staff that everyone is in the facility. Once the doors lock, you are not permitted to enter and there are no in and out privileges.

4. Under Provincial legislation, anyone lined up outside is required to wear a mask and maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from other people.

5.Masks and social distancing rules are required to be followed inside the arena.

6. Masks must be worn by everyone, including players and bench staff until they are ready to go out onto the ice. Bench staff are required to wear masks while on the bench. They are not required to wear a mask while on the ice during a practice unless they are unable to socially distance. Players are not allowed to put on their helmet to avoid wearing a mask before going on the ice.

7. Spectators are allowed to bring food and beverages into the arena effective immediately.

8. Once spectators enter the arena, they are required to sign in for contact tracing purposes and show proof of vaccine. The visiting team's COVID Rep must advise our Home COVID Rep that their spectators, parents, team etc. has been checked and in compliance. Once this is done, the Home COVID Rep must sign the binder at the arena for that time slot.

9. Parents and spectators may not use the entrance door to the arena to exit. You are required to exit out the door in the spectator side of the arena and walk around to the front of the arena to pick up your child. Players must exit through the door located at the end of the hall near the dressing rooms. This is to avoid crowding at the front of the arena. DO NOT EXIT OUT THE FRONT DOORS.
