PLAYER OF THE GAME DECEMBER 18
Our game vs Douro - the top ranked team (lost ZERO games) - was expected to be a challenge.
We coached our players how to shut down their scoring... and they went out and made it happen.
0-0 until half way through the 2nd when we gave up a short-handed goal. With 5 minutes left in the 3rd, tied 1-1, they got lucky and sneaked one past the goal line for a 2-1 finish. On average, Douro scores 6 goals per game and we kept them to 2. One was short-handed and one was just lucky.
Much of our great defensive work was supplied by our player-of-the-game today BRAEDEN APPLEBY. Braeden shut down more offensive plays and Douro scoring chances than we could count. And his puck battling skills are becoming legendary!
Congratulations Braeden!
